As the semester comes to a close, it seems like summer is just around the corner. Hold on a minute…. it is! As hard as it is to imagine summer officially starts in a mere 11 days. Many students are already abuzz about their plans, while some have already hit the road and are officially on holiday. For Yours Truly, holiday is still a long way off and the fun is just about to begin. LMCA Edventure is heading into its 6th year.

Unlike other years, many campers are coming well before the camp and will attend CALI, which stands for Cultural and Language Immersion. This is an intensive study program that goes beyond the already spectacular LMCA fare. In addition to Reading, Vocabulary, Non-Fiction Reading Club, and Writing, students will experience the Learning Labs for the first time. These are a set of 8 labs that dive hands-on into subjects that are on the vanguard of education.

More independence and exploration will also occur in the summer camp this year. Campers will get to join in two amazing races which venture around UBC, facing challenges designed to build cooperation and collaboration. The campers will also participate in challenges that combine modern technology with leadership and creativity. The planning process that has gone into these has been comprehensive, and they are sure to improve on an already fantastic camp.
