Learn about us
Little Mountain Learning Academy started in 2004 on the UBC campus. We are a school with passionate educators, motivated by their students gaining knowledge, skills, confidence and independence.
Our experienced staff aims to nurture motivation, which is key in propelling our students towards their goals. With individualized attention and support, our students are able to become the best they can be.
Our Elementary School Teachers
Our elementary school teachers are passionate educators who build great connections with learners in the Pre-K – Grade 7 range. These teachers are experts in early literacy and know how to make learning fun.
Our Secondary School Teachers
Our secondary school teachers are keen to enable Grade 8 – Grade 12 students to quickly gain knowledge and understanding. They seek to make this process as efficient and exciting as possible.
Little Mountain takes great pride in being a caring, nurturing place for our students. We work with young people to help reduce anxiety relating to their studies.
Above all, our high school teachers support students to work efficiently. Students are provided with the tools to understand complex instructions, study efficiently and achieve excellent grades.
Why Our Elementary School Programs
Pre-K – Grade 7 students thrive in a holistic educational environment. They develop an early passion for lifelong learning and the following critical skills:
- Early literacy (reading and writing)
- Creativity
- Project-based collaboration
- Critical thinking
- Developing unique learning strengths and character
Why Our Secondary School Programs
From Grade 8, knowledge transfer becomes increasingly important. Your child needs to develop a wide range of academic skills and subject matter expertise.
No two children are the same. Therefore, our senior programs are personally paced, providing students with increased time and energy devoted to their areas of challenge. We offer online with blended (physical at school) learning opportunities for senior programs.
- Knowledge transfer skills with strong subject matter expertise
- Research and presentation skills development
- Academic Integrity
- Ability to access robust course content in Math, Sciences, English, and AP
- Be motived and shared educational experience by expertise
In short, we are here to support our community. We do this through the education of children and young people. This means helping children and families adapt to, and succeed within, the educational system in Canada.
